Medical Questions Regarding Perifit Care and Care+
Why should I use Perifit?
Perifit Care and Perifit Care+ are wireless devices designed to strengthen the pelvic floor, enhancing the precision and regularity of pelvic floor exercises and motivating users.
Perifit solutions consist of a device and an application that together form an interactive platform to guide you through your pelvic floor strengthening exercises.
Perifit Care and Perifit Care+ enable the following actions:
- Encouraging regular practice of pelvic floor exercises.
- Strengthening pelvic floor muscles.
- Rehabilitating and training weakened pelvic floor muscles.
- Treating stress, urgency, and mixed urinary incontinence.
- Improving sensation or comfort during sexual intercourse for individuals with pelvic floor disorders.
- Enhancing pelvic floor function after childbirth by increasing strength, reducing issues such as urinary incontinence, and improving comfort during sexual intercourse.
- Alleviating symptoms associated with mild to moderate prolapse.
Can Perifit Care or Care+ help reduce urine leaks?
Yes!
Perifit devices designed to treat stress, mild-moderate urge, and mixed urinary incontinence by strengthening pelvic floor muscles through targeted exercise. Pelvic floor training effectively addresses these forms of incontinence, with studies showing improvement in approximately 75% of women with stress incontinence and about 2/3 of women with urge or other incontinence through regular exercises.
Since not all cases of incontinence are caused by a weak pelvic floor, getting a diagnosis with a health practitioner to determine the root cause of your incontinence symptoms will help you maximize the chances of using the most effective treatment for you.
Can I use Perifit Care or Perifit Care+ while pregnant?
No!
For ethical reasons, Perifit devices haven't been tested on pregnant women, and therefore the impact of using a connected Kegel trainer during pregnancy is not known.
As a result, we recommend that you do your Kegel exercises without a device throughout your pregnancy, and return to Perifit Care 6 to 8 weeks after childbirth, after getting clearance from your healthcare professional.
Can I use Perifit Care or Perifit Care+ if I've just given birth?
IT DEPENDS... After childbirth, it's the perfect time to start regularly practising pelvic floor exercises.
However, we strongly recommend waiting for approval from your healthcare professional before using Perifit post-partum.
This typically occurs during your six-week check-up, which is the average timeframe for perineal healing.
Should I undergo pelvic floor rehabilitation if I've had a C-section?
YES. Your pelvic floor has supported up to 5 kilograms during your pregnancy! It needs strengthening.
Regardless of the type of delivery, seek guidance from a healthcare professional for pelvic floor rehabilitation after pregnancy and childbirth.
Can I use Perifit Care or Perifit Care+ with a prolapse (organ descent)?
YES! Pelvic floor exercises can alleviate symptoms in mild to moderate cases (1st to 3rd degree prolapse) and help prevent the progression of organ descent.
Can I use Perifit Care or Perifit Care if I don't have any pelvic floor issues?
Absolutely! We have designed the "Prevention" and "Intimate Wellness" programs specifically for this purpose.
Does using Perifit solutions have benefits on sexual life?
Short answer: YES!
One of the main functions of the pelvic floor is to aid sexual response. When the pelvic floor is strong and agile, it can perform well-synchronized contractions to stimulate the clitoris during penetration.
Can Perifit solutions help relax the pelvic floor muscles?
YES. Your ability to contract your pelvic floor is as important as your ability to relax it. Perifit helps you relax the pelvic floor through relaxation phases in each game and training session.
However, if your pelvic floor needs primarily focus on relaxation (such as individuals experiencing pelvic floor hyperactivity or muscle spasms), Perifit may not be the best product for you. We advise consulting with a specialist for guidance on relaxation-focused techniques.
Can Perifit solutions help with vaginismus, dyspareunia, or vulvodynia?
NO. To date, although we are very aware of pelvic floor disorders such as vaginismus, dyspareunia, or vulvodynia, our product is not the best solution for treating them.If the size of Perifit does not cause discomfort, and if one focuses on relaxation during Kegels, it will not cause harm.
However, Kegel exercises are often very focused on contraction, and there may not be enough attention paid to complete relaxation after the contraction. In these cases, it may lead to additional tightening of the pelvic area.
Is Perifit beneficial after a hysterectomy?
YES, BUT... After a hysterectomy, it's essential to ensure that the internal organs are supported, that your bladder and bowels function properly, and that the risk of prolapse is minimized.
However, you should first obtain clearance from your surgeon. For most women, this occurs approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the hysterectomy. But it can vary from woman to woman depending on the surgical procedure and overall recovery from the hysterectomy.
Can Perifit solutions help combat vaginal atrophy?
PROBABLY. Studies have shown that training the pelvic floor muscles can improve some symptoms and signs of vaginal atrophy in women undergoing local estrogen therapy.
This is because Kegel exercises increase blood flow to the vagina, which helps maintain tissue health and promotes lubrication.
Can Perifit devices help treat urinary retention or dysuria?
IN SOME CASES. Urinary retention occurs when the body cannot completely empty the bladder.
Pelvic floor training can help stabilize certain types of urinary retention, such as those caused by a cystocele (bladder prolapse). Discuss this with your healthcare professional to determine if this applies to you.
Can Perifit devices prevent vaginal flatulence or queefing?
YES. When you perform certain movements (for example, during a yoga pose) or during penetration, air can enter the vagina. Subsequently, the rapid expulsion of this air produces a sound similar to flatulence.
Whether ignored or laughed off, the frequent occurrence of vaginal flatulence can be a warning sign that the tone of your pelvic floor is weak. Training with Perifit Care or Care+ is the best way to tone the vaginal walls and thus reduce the frequency of these vaginal flatulences.
Can Perifit solutions alleviate symptoms of endometriosis?
NO. Unfortunately, Perifit probes do not have an effect on endometriosis or the associated pain of this condition.
Can I use Perifit Care or Care+ if I have my period?
It's up to you to decide whether you want to use Perifit during your period. There's no reason not to, and many people do.
Additionally, it's worth noting that throughout your cycle, your results may vary. However, there's no need to worry, as it's simply a natural fluctuation in your strength as part of your menstrual cycle.
Is it possible to use Perifit Care or Care+ with an intrauterine device (IUD)?
YES. You can use Perifit Care or Perifit Care+ with an intrauterine device or IUD. The tip of your Perifit probe is the part that connects to your phone or tablet and remains outside of your body at all times. The pelvic rehabilitation device is completely covered in medical-grade silicone, with no exposed parts, so there is no risk in using it with an IUD.
Can I use a Perifit device if I have a pacemaker?
YES. Perifit communicates with your device using low-energy Bluetooth waves (Bluetooth Low Energy or BLE). These waves are 1000 times weaker than those emitted by your 4G smartphone, to the extent that they are now used in some pacemakers.
However, as a precautionary measure, we recommend, as with your smartphone, keeping a distance of at least 15 cm between Perifit and your pacemaker.
Does Perifit have an effect on conception?
Not at all! Perifit Care and Perifit Care+ are biofeedback devices, and it is you who voluntarily contract the muscles of your pelvic floor. Additionally, the Bluetooth technology used is BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), which is very common in medical products.
BLE technology has been deemed safe for humans and fetuses by scientists and is 4,000 times less powerful than, for example, your smartphone.
Are there any health effects associated with using Bluetooth technology in this device?
Perifit utilizes non-ionizing Bluetooth Low Energy waves from its probe, which remains outside of the body at all times.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology allows for the transmission of information from your probe to your smartphone using very minimal waves. This technology is commonly used in the healthcare sector for wireless sensors, including heart monitors, glucose meters (for measuring blood sugar levels), and oximeters (for measuring blood oxygen levels). It is also used in everyday connected devices such as Apple watches or fitness trackers.
Bluetooth Low Energy, used in Perifit, emits on average 3 times lower emissions than standard Bluetooth.
Using Perifit Care and Perifit Care+

How to choose between Perifit Care and Care+?

You have experienced vaginal discomfort during insertion: The anatomical design of Perifit Care+ ensures painless rehabilitation. Additionally, its flexible nature adapts to all anatomies.
You engage in activities that pose a risk to the pelvic floor: Perifit Care+ exclusively offers fitness exercises with perineal contraction monitoring. These exercises help create reflexes for pelvic floor contraction that protect your pelvic floor during risky activities (sports, lifting heavy objects, sneezing, etc.). The results obtained are therefore more sustainable.
You want to achieve significant results quickly: Perifit Care+ allows you to increase the difficulty of exercises with standing workouts and also provides better monitoring of incorrect contractions with its additional sensors. As a result, you will achieve more significant and faster results through this more challenging and precise training.
What are the dimensions of the devices?
Perifit Care: The insertable part of the device measures 3.2 inches / 8.3 cm in length, and 1.2 inches / 3.1 cm in diameter.

The app is completely free. We regularly add new games to the app through updates. These updates are also free; there is no charge to access the new games.
Access to certain options may depend on the type of probe you are using.
How accurate are Perifit devices?
Perifit Care and Perifit Care+ can detect pelvic floor contractions as low as 0.35 oz / 50 g.
Do Perifit devices vibrate?
No, our probes only measure the value of pelvic floor muscle strength and transmit it to the application.
Do Perifit probes contain electro-stimulation?
No. Perifit Care and Perifit Care+ are biofeedback devices and do not contain any electro-stimulation. It is you who voluntarily contract your pelvic floor muscles. Biofeedback enables you to visualize your contractions, ensuring they are performed effectively and facilitating more efficient training.
Please note that some people with a very weak pelvic floor (due to injury or an underlying condition) may benefit from electrostimulation before being able to perform voluntary pelvic floor muscle contractions. If you think this may appy to you, you should reach out to a pevic healthcare practitioner.
How should I insert Perifit and what position should I lie in?
Initially, we recommend training while lying down in a comfortable position with knees bent and legs slightly apart. To learn more about how to insert Perifit and the position in which you should train, please open the Perifit app.
Furthermore, due to its miniaturized design and flexibility, Perifit Care+ facilitates training in various positions, including sitting or standing.
